Mike secured a substantial settlement in a trucking case where a semi driver rear ended his client who was stopped in traffic on I-90 just east of Rockford. The collision caused major spinal cord injury to Mike’s client leaving him paralyzed from the waste down. This case was complicated by many factors one of which being that the injuries to both his client and the defendant truck driver left them unable to testify about what happened in the moments preceding the crash. An incredible team effort allowed Mike to secure the statement of a witness, not identified in the police report, who saw the semi swerving and driving erratically approximately one mile before he crashed.
Mike's Verdicts & Settlements
Mike secured a settlement for a truck driver who was injured when he rolled his semi-tractor trailer trying to avoid another collision. The collision occurred in the middle of the night on a snowy highway near Eau Claire Wisconsin. Mike secured this settlement from the employer of a driver involved in the other collision despite the fact that there was never any contact between the defendant driver or his client’s vehicle.
Mike secured a verdict in wrongful death case brought by the family of a 21 year old man who was struck by an SUV while riding a motorcycle. At the time of the crash the defendant was making a left hand turn into a restaurant parking lot in front of the oncoming motorcycle. When the defendant saw the motorcycle he came to a complete stop creating a roadblock which the motorcycle could not avoid. The jury found the defendant 100% responsible despite eye witness testimony that the motorcyclist was driving in excess of 80 miles per hour moments before this collision. Mike, only 27 years old when he secured this verdict, is one of the youngest lawyers in Illinois to record a million dollar verdict.
Mike secured a settlement on behalf of a family of a man who died from a fall in Chicago hospital. The man was found unconscious on the floor of his hospital room, just hours before he was to be discharged. No one at the hospital saw or knew how he fell. The man died from his injuries and Mike represented his wife and two adult children in the wrongful death suit.
